I know it seems as though I haven't written much lately. One the one hand, it seems like we have been very busy, and on the other, it seems like we are just plodding along.
As far as farm activity is concerned, things have been fairly ho-hum. Jeff and Tom continue to feed the cows daily, taking turns for each other if one has to be out of town. Calving will start soon--in a few weeks-- and that will bring a lot more excitement and a change in routine, for sure. Tom and Jeff have also been working on making sure the new air drill will be ready to go for spring seeding, which will hopefully begin in April.
As for what is happening outside of the realm of feeding cows and working on machinery, it seems sometimes like we have hardly sat still. Jeff and I have been in the process of some home renovations. We have been working on updating our bathroom with new fixtures, paint, and accessories. In addition, we are having new flooring installed in four rooms of our house, including the bathroom. The work should be done for the floor on Wednesday, so now we are trying to rearrange any furniture and other miscellany so it is not in the way when the flooring people come.
I have also been working on getting a shop set up on Etsy: Sweet Grass Sewing. There's not much in it yet, but it's a start. The namesake for the shop being the beautiful view of the Sweet Grass Hills I have out my west window, and an honor to the landform that seems to mean so much to everyone who lives around here. Check out the shop when you have a chance, and check back periodically, too, for new items!
