Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukka, Cook Kwanzaa, Splendid Solstice, or whatever. This year, my parents and brother made the journey to Montana to celebrate with us. It was fun to share some Bangs traditions with them, such as caroling, and prime rib on Christmas Eve. The only regrettable aspect of the visit from my family was the extremely cold weather. I think the highest the temperature reached during their visit was 5 above zero. Though the weather kept us indoors, we enjoyed playing games and cards, visiting, and simply spending time together.
Here's a few photos I took around the house. Unfortunately, I didn't get any photos of us... although, knowing my husband and brother, they probably think that's just fine.
What traditions did all of you experience or share this year?
The "sweets" table. Special thanks to my mom and my aunt Jean who helped supply some cookies and, my favorite, Sponge Candy!!
We had lots of delicious wine, and also introduced my parents to Moscow Mules, hence the copper mugs! |
The table is set for prime rib dinner on Christmas eve. Also on the menu was mashed potatoes, green beans with almonds, crusty french bread, tossed salad, and apple and pumpkin pies for dessert.
The Christmas Tree is all aglow!
Santa was generous this year! ;)
Mom and Dad's house is being remodeled, so their stockings were buried away somewhere in storage. Alas, homemade "stockings" did the trick! Dad's is the bag on the left, Mom's in the middle, and Ryan's on the right. Pretty awesome!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I'm glad you had all of your family around for the Holiday. Thanks for your blog. I love to read what's happening on the Hi-Line.
